Thursday Things

1.     I bought myself flowers today to try and bring a little sunshine to this dreary day. There has been so much rain and water that the roads were closed and I couldn’t get to work. Of course, this was only after I had been trying for an hour and a half to get to the office. Round trip was 2.5 hours, but it was worth it to end up back in sweats.

2.     Remember the whole “not going to watch television for a week” thing? Yeah, that lasted all of one day. I’m now in the middle of the second season of the Vampire Diaries and all I can say is HOW DID IT TAKE ME THIS LONG TO WATCH?! I’m a sucker for vampires/werewolves/supernatural stories and the man candy is just an added bonus. Stefan…swoon. Jeremy…double swoon. My goodness. And the hormones on these kids! I cannot deal. I go to bed at 8pm, I’m not cut out for their fast-paced lifestyles.

3.     Speaking of tv…remember that ah-mazing cartoon Gargoyles? Well, the entire series is on YouTube. You’re welcome.

4.     I got to feel like a super cool adult this week (that is, when I wasn’t watching a show about teenage vampires…) when I was asked to speak at NEWSPA (the NorthEastern Wisconsin Scholastic Press Association) about blogging. Granted, I know nothing about blogging and was flying by the seat of my awkward pants, but I think it went alright! People asked questions and didn’t get up and leave the room during my presentation, so I’ll classify that as a win.

5.     29 Things Only People From The Midwest Understand is so ridiculously accurate.

6.     33 Infomercial Characters Who Need To Get Their Stuff Together

7.     We got so many samples at work on Monday…and there’s bound to be more when I go in tomorrow. Heaven help me…and my waistline.

8.     Because I didn’t have any Buzzfeed lists in last week’s post, I’m making up for it now. And I’m not sorry. At all.

  1. Those 29 things about Midwesterners are a great summary of life as we know it.
